Summary by Persona (Grouped by Role)
👩⚕️ Clinicians / Therapists
- Therapists can reorder diagnosis codes, filter patients by service location, track sessions by discipline and location, and benefit from document autosave improvements. Unsigned amendments can now be deleted, and signed documents load faster.
🧑💼 Admins
- Admins can color schedules by discipline, track sessions by discipline and location, filter patients by service location, and benefit from faster exports and billing dashboard performance.
💳 Billers / Guardians
-
Billers: Claim handling is more reliable, time-based invoices now display minutes correctly, and ERA claims, billing dashboards, and Excel exports load faster.
-
Guardians/Patients: Intake forms now save answers automatically in the browser, and practices with cross-device autosave enabled can restore unfinished documents on another device.
🚀 New Feature - Reorder Patient Diagnosis Codes
👥 Audience: Therapists, Admins
🛠️ Steps to Access: Patient profile > Actions > Edit > Treatability & diagnosis > Manage diagnosis code
📢 What's new?: You can now drag and drop a patient's diagnosis codes to change their order, without deleting and re-adding codes. The new order is used on the patient profile, the patients list, evaluations, plans of care, and other documents. The code listed first is also used as the primary diagnosis on claims created after the change, including corrected claims.
🚀 New Feature - Discipline and Location Added to Events Record Center
👥 Audience: Therapists and admins who track pacing
🛠️ Steps to Access: Events record center. If you have set up your own columns on that page, add Discipline and Location from the column picker.
📢 What's new?: The events record center now shows the discipline and the location of each session, and you can narrow the list to one discipline or one school. Both appear in the Excel download, so you can work out pacing per discipline and per school. A session shows the discipline written on its note. If there is no note yet, it shows the therapist's discipline when they only have one. The Sessions list on the attendance dashboard now shows the discipline the same way.
🚀 New Feature - Filter Patients by Service Location
👥 Audience: Therapists and admins who work from the patients list
🛠️ Steps to Access: Patients page, Filters. The filter appears when the Service Locations column is switched on in the column picker.
📢 What's new?: You can now filter the patients list by service location, and pick more than one at a time. There is also a "No service location" choice for finding patients who do not have one set yet. The filter carries through to the Excel download, so you can export just one school's patients.
🛠️ Fix - Prevent Duplicate Payments on Rejected Claim Replacements or Cancellations
👥 Audience: Billers
📅 Date range affected: N/A
❗ Issue: After a payer rejected a replacement or cancellation of a claim it had already paid, Ambiki still offered to create a new claim file, which the payer could pay a second time. That option is now hidden once the payer has paid, and creating a new claim file after any rejected replacement or cancellation asks you to confirm first.
✅ Action Steps: None. To fix a rejected replacement or cancellation, use Correct claim.
🛠️ Fix - Patient Message Replies Show the Relevant Message First
👥 Audience: Therapists and admins who reply to patient messages
❗ Issue: The reply page showed the full recent conversation above the message box, which made long conversations hard to work with.
✅ Action Steps: None. The message you are replying to now shows right above the message box, and earlier messages can be opened under "Conversation history".
🚀 New Feature - Autosave for Patient Portal Intake Documents
👥 Audience: Parents and patients using the patient portal
🛠️ Steps to Access: None. Autosave is on for intake documents in the patient portal.
📢 What's new?: Intake documents in the patient portal now keep a copy of your answers in your browser as you type. If you are signed out or close the page before saving, open the document again on the same device and click "Restore my work" to pick up where you left off.
🛠️ Fix - Claims Update Correctly When Payer Order Changes
👥 Audience: Billers
📅 Date range affected: Visits reinvoiced to more than one payer
❗ Issue: When a visit was reinvoiced to more than one payer, the claim for a payer that moved from primary to secondary could stay as it was first sent.
✅ Action Steps: None.
🚀 New Feature - Restore Unsaved Documents Across Devices
👥 Audience: Therapists, admins, and parents and patients using the patient portal
🛠️ Steps to Access: Turned on per organization by Ambiki.
📢 What's new?: Autosave now saves your in-progress documents to Ambiki as you type, not only to your browser. If you are signed out, close the page or switch devices before saving, open the document again and click "Restore my work" to pick up where you left off, on any computer or phone.
🚀 New Feature - Color Schedules by Discipline
👥 Audience: Admins
🛠️ Steps to Access: Go to Organization menu > Edit organization > Calendar colors > Disciplines tab. Then on the Schedule calendar > click the gear icon > Color by > Discipline.
📢 What's new?: You can now color your schedule by discipline. Pick a color for speech, occupational, physical and other therapy, and one for therapists without a single discipline, then choose Discipline under Color by on the schedule. Each therapist's discipline comes from the disciplines on their profile, and therapist colors stay as they are.
🛠️ Fix - Delete Unsigned Document Amendments
👥 Audience: Therapists
📅 Date range affected: Since amendments were introduced
❗ Issue: An amendment that was saved but not yet signed could not be removed, so the document stayed marked as awaiting a signature until the amendment was signed.
✅ Action Steps: None. The person who wrote an unsigned amendment now sees a Delete button on it. Deleting it returns the document to signed. Signed amendments cannot be deleted.
🛠️ Fix - Time-Based Invoice Lines Display Session Minutes
👥 Audience: Admins, billers and families
📅 Date range affected: Since "Billed by time" service rates were introduced
❗ Issue: Invoice lines for services billed by time showed "1" in the units column, which made the charge hard to understand.
✅ Action Steps: None. Invoice lines for services billed by time now show the session minutes, for example "41 min".
🛠️ Fix - Faster ERA Claims List Loading
👥 Audience: Billers and admins
❗ Issue: The ERA claims list could take a long time to open.
✅ Action Steps: None.
🛠️ Fix - Faster Events Excel Exports
👥 Audience: Schedulers and admins
❗ Issue: Exporting events to Excel could take a long time.
✅ Action Steps: None.
🛠️ Fix - Faster Excel Exports Across Ambiki
👥 Audience: All users who export lists to Excel
❗ Issue: Some Excel exports took longer than needed.
✅ Action Steps: None.
🛠️ Fix - Faster Billing Dashboard Loading
👥 Audience: Admins and billers
❗ Issue: Some billing dashboard sections could load slowly.
✅ Action Steps: None.
🛠️ Fix - Faster Loading of Signed Documents
👥 Audience: Therapists
❗ Issue: Signed documents could take a long time to open.
✅ Action Steps: None.
🛠️ Fix - Faster Patient Invoice Excel Exports
👥 Audience: Billers and admins
❗ Issue: Exporting patient invoices to Excel could take a long time.
✅ Action Steps: None.
