Summary by Persona (Grouped by Role)

👩‍⚕️ Clinicians / Therapists

* Supervised teammates can have specific documents excluded from co-signature requirements, and therapists who travel for school or home visits can track business mileage for reimbursement.

🧑‍💼 Admins

* Admins can manage documentation co-signature exclusions, set mileage reimbursement rates, review mileage totals by teammate, and access an updated Billing Guide.

💳 Billers / Guardians

  • Billers: Billers can configure payer-specific taxonomy codes, including rules for Early Intervention and individual disciplines, and use the updated Billing Guide for patient responsibility and secondary claims.

  • Guardians/Patients: No direct changes.

🚀 New Feature - Documentation Co-Signature Exclusions

👥 Audience: Practice admins and supervised teammates

🛠️ Steps to Access: Open Teammates from the organization menu, open a teammate, and find Documentation co-signature exclusions. Click Add new co-signature exclusion, choose the documents, then click Save co-signature exclusions. The Teammates list also shows an Excluded co-signatures column.

📢 What's new?: You can mark the documents a teammate doesn't need a supervisor to co-sign. For those documents, claims use the teammate's own NPI number instead of their supervisor's.

🚀 New Feature - Mileage Tracking

👥 Audience: Practice admins and teammates who drive to visits

🛠️ Steps to Access: Go to Edit organization, then Mileage settings. Turn on Enable mileage tracking and click Save. Use Manage mileage rates to add your per-mile rate. Admins must also grant teammates the necessary mileage tracking permission individually or update their permission group to include it. Once enabled and permission is granted, teammates can find Mileage in their menu.

📢 What's new?: Teammates can log the business miles they drive for school and home visits. Reimbursement uses the per-mile rate in effect on the trip date, and admins can see totals by teammate for any date range.

🚀 New Feature - Insurance Company Taxonomy Rules

👥 Audience: Billers

🛠️ Steps to Access: Go to Billing, then Insurance companies. Edit an insurance company and find Taxonomy rules, then click Add taxonomy rule. For a patient billed under Early Intervention, set Claim program to Early Intervention (Part C) on their insurance.

📢 What's new?: When a payer requires a specific provider taxonomy code, you can set it on the insurance company instead of changing your billing provider or your therapists' credentials. Rules can apply to all claims or only to Early Intervention coverages, and to all disciplines or just one. Nothing changes for an insurance company until you add a rule.

🚀 New Feature - Updated Billing Guide

👥 Audience: Billers and practice admins

🛠️ Steps to Access: Click Billing Guide on the FAQ page, or Billing guide at the bottom of any page, while signed in.

📢 What's new?: The Billing Guide has been refreshed to match how billing in Ambiki works today, including how patient responsibility after an insurance payment is collected and how secondary claims are sent.

Thank you for choosing Ambiki.
