About
Caitlin is an ASHA-certified speech-language pathologist with 10 years of experience working with children of all ages and abilities. In recognition of her commitment to lifelong learning, Caitlin was awarded the ASHA Award for Continuing Education by completing more than double the required hours of additional training. Every child who sees Caitlin is met with compassion, enthusiasm, a big smile, and a genuine desire to improve their quality of life. Caitlin especially loves guiding families at the beginning of their therapeutic journey so that they feel hopeful and optimistic. Caitlin specializes in the areas of autism, gestalt language processing, augmentative and alternative communication, medically complex children, speech sound disorders, and feeding.
Caitlin earned her bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Michigan State University and her master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is licensed in the state of North Carolina and holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Caitlin has the following advanced training: NLA Trained (Meaningful Speech), AAC + GLP Trained (Meaningful Speech), Feed the Peds® Trained, Oral Placement Therapy, PODD Trained, and Inside Out Sensory Certificate for SLPs. She is a 2017 recipient of the Lara Jane Parker Award for Excellence, a New Voices Foundation program that recognizes individuals who work daily to improve the lives of children. Caitlin continues to be a clinical supervisor to UNC graduate students to inspire the next generation of speech-language pathologists. Caitlin enjoys traveling, horseback riding, dining at her favorite restaurants, and creating new memories with her husband and their two children.
