Ambiki is excited to announce a Clinical Advisory board that will work alongside our team to ensure the app we are creating serves the broadest audience possible within the world of pediatric occupational, physical, and speech therapy. The members of the Advisory Board have diverse backgrounds and perspectives to talk about topics in the industry.

We asked these leaders within our industry to help guide us. As a new company, we want to align ourselves with stars like these. We are impressed with what these therapists are doing. As we grow, we want Ambiki to be a resource for ambitious people like our Clinical Advisory Board members.

Ambiki Team

The clinical advisory board is joining our team on a bi-monthly basis to have discussions about relevant topics in the industry. Here’s a snapshot of who the Clinical Advisory Board will be meeting with at Ambiki:

Kevin Dias, Ambiki

After working in investment banking, Kevin moved to Japan to teach English. One frustration when teaching was not knowing what his students had learned in the 10+ years they had been at his language school before becoming his student. Each class was like starting from square one for the students over and over, repeatedly when he wanted to help his students achieve their goals. As a result, Kevin started a language app to help students track their progress. Next, Kevin went on to work as a developer in the translation industry to make life easier for freelance translators. In late 2018, Kevin started at Sidekick Therapy Partners, helping to build an EMR which is now running their business of 200+ employees (including 170+ therapists). Kevin is the leader of the Ambiki team. His impatience for improving things inspires the team to be ambitious in everything they create for Ambiki.

Nate Hill, Ambiki

Nate is a full-stack developer and creator who loves learning how technology can solve the business problems people encounter in their jobs. He believes every conversation is an opportunity to learn if you listen and stay curious. He strives to blend technical, graphic design, project management, and teaching experience to produce novel, elegant solutions. He is bilingual in Japanese and English. He is the Head of Product at Ambiki and his unmistakable stamp is on every aspect of the site.

Virginia Ingram, Ambiki

Virginia is a CCC-SLP and digital strategist who helps those with communication needs interact with those most important to them. With a 20+ year stint at agencies and start-ups, she has focused her career on technology-sparked solutions for business and life while transitioning her digital strategy work into both a clinical and strategic position. Clinically, Virginia has a keen interest in delivering therapy to individuals with gender dysphoria and those who are Deaf or hard of hearing (particularly those who have recently received hearing aids or a cochlear implant). She specializes in improving the digital literacy of all patients. Virginia is the Head of Clinical Strategy at Ambiki.

Kurt Meyerhofer, Ambiki

Kurt is a full-stack developer who focuses on the technology people rarely see – the infrastructure that makes everything work in Ambiki. Before becoming a developer, Kurt was an air traffic controller. His career guiding jets to safely land instilled in him the ability to remain calm and focused while methodically troubleshooting when plans go awry. You can count on Kurt as a straight shooter with clear, concise, and organized communication.

Bailey Morgan, Ambiki

Bailey is a CCC-SLP with experience working in schools, private practice, hospitals, and skilled nursing facilities. After working on the NYC frontlines during the pandemic, Bailey saw a heavy reliance on technology to keep therapy services accessible and families in contact with their loved ones. She now spends 100% of her time dedicated to making technology accessible, intuitive, and easy to use for both clinicians and their clients. Bailey advocates teletherapy and the access to services it provides for children who don’t have an in-person therapist available to them.

About Ambiki

Ambiki is brought to you by Ambitious Idea Labs, a team of clinicians and developers who examine the external barriers preventing therapists from delivering the exceptional therapy they want to provide. Our tools help feeding, occupational, physical, and speech therapists:

  • Reduce paperwork and planning time
  • Spend more time on patients

Our small team is ambitious. We know a therapist needs better, integrated tools to handle all aspects of therapy efficiently. The Ambiki team is building a comprehensive foundation to act as a thoughtful guide in helping therapists see the bigger picture.

Ambiki (æm-bI-ki) comes from the English word ambitious and the Japanese word kioku. Kioku is the word for record or memory (the ki is pronounced key). Ambiki is more than a tool; Ambiki is a way of doing things. Our goal is to help therapists gain deeper insight into all the activities related to a therapy session. We have started with therapy tools, teletherapy, and tools to allow therapists to show off their expertise. Additionally, we are creating comprehensive tools to handle every aspect of therapy, from onboarding a patient, scheduling, billing, and much, much more.

Help us build the tools you want

We are always looking for input from OTs, PTs, and SLPs. Please help us create a user-friendly tool by sharing what you find currently works best for you and what you would like to see improved in your current systems.

To get your feedback, we have created the Improving the Clinical Experience for OTs, PTs, and SLPs survey to gain insight into the efficiencies and pitfalls of documenting, scheduling, billing, and resource management tools treating therapists use for administrative tasks.

The survey will take approximately 4 minutes to complete: https://forms.office.com/r/6WestmJ3QE
