A variety of clothing items for different seasons and weather, large suitcase, design your own clothing, question/command cards.
Strategies and techniques
Ways to Use:
Cut out items. Practice labeling or identifying items.
Sort/categorize items based on seasons/weather.
Find items that start or end with a target sound.
Use sample questions to target Wh- questions.
Use sample commands to target following directions.
Create your own questions and commands related to the items.
Have the child give you commands to follow.
Pretend to pack a suitcase for a trip. Where are you going? What clothing will you need to take?
Compare/contrast clothing items.
Use black/white images to design your own clothing items. Describe your new item.
Discuss appropriate vs. inappropriate clothing choices depending on different social situations.
Practice sequencing steps to get dressed. Use pictures and first/next/then as visual cues.
